Heather's Mesa Copper Necklace

Some shapes do not need explaining — they have been with us too long for that.

I made this piece for the woman who feels something when she sees a spiral, even if she cannot say exactly what. The pendant is formed from a single continuous strip of copper, coiled by hand from the center outward — the same way this symbol has been shaped for thousands of years by people who understood that some forms carry something beyond their appearance.

The pendant is shaped on a single strip of 99.9% pure copper. Not plated. Not coated. Real copper worn close to the chest — against the heart — the way women have worn it across every culture and every era that understood the value of wearing something genuinely real against the skin.

Women who wear real copper close to their body tend to keep it there. I have heard enough of those stories over the years to stop feeling the need to explain them.

This is one of the last necklaces from my copper collection. I am moving on to something new and these designs will not be made again.

I hope it finds the neck that needs it.
